Getting started with Shop2Woo involves a few key configuration steps to prepare for your first import:
Step 1: Access the Shop2Woo Settings #
- Navigate to your WordPress dashboard
- Look for the “Shop2Woo” menu item in the left sidebar
- Click on “Settings” to open the configuration page
- You’ll see several tabs for different settings categories
Step 2: Configure WooCommerce Connection #
- In the General Settings tab, locate the API credentials section
- Enter your WooCommerce store URL (this should be your WordPress site URL)
- Paste your Consumer Key that you generated in WooCommerce
- Paste your Consumer Secret that you generated in WooCommerce
- Click “Test Connection” to verify the credentials work correctly
Step 3: Set Default Category Options #
- Still in Settings, find the “Default Category” dropdown
- Select which WooCommerce category should be used for imported products
- Optionally, enable “Create categories from Shopify collections”
- Configure category mapping preferences if you want to match Shopify collections to existing categories
Step 4: Configure Price Markup Settings #
- Navigate to the “Pricing” tab in Settings
- Choose your preferred markup method:
- Percentage (e.g., add 20% to all prices)
- Fixed amount (e.g., add $10 to all prices)
- Enter your desired markup value
- Set rounding options (e.g., round to nearest .99)
- Configure any category-specific pricing rules
Step 5: Set Image Import Preferences #
- Go to the “Images” tab in Settings
- Choose whether to import all product images or just featured images
- Select image quality and size preferences
- Decide whether to store images locally or use Shopify URLs
- Set featured image selection rules (e.g., always use first image)
Step 6: Configure Additional Import Options #
- Review the “Import” tab for additional settings
- Set default product status (Published, Draft, or Pending Review)
- Configure stock management preferences
- Set up attribute handling rules
- Choose which meta fields to import
Step 7: Save Your Settings and Prepare for Import #
- After configuring all settings, click “Save Changes”
- A confirmation message will appear when settings are saved successfully
- Return to the main Shop2Woo dashboard to begin your first import
- Follow the import instructions to start transferring products
