Step 1: Access the Shop2Woo Import Dashboard #
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Click on “Shop2Woo” in the left sidebar
- Click on “Dashboard” or “Import” (depending on your version)
Step 2: Upload Your JSON File #
- In the Shop2Woo dashboard, look for the “Upload JSON File” section
- Click the “Choose File” or “Browse” button
- Navigate to where you saved your products.json file
- Select the file and click “Open“
Step 3: Start the Product Fetch Process #
- After selecting your file, click the “Start Fetch” button
- The plugin will begin reading your JSON file and preparing products for import
- Wait for the fetch process to complete – this may take a few minutes depending on how many products you have
Step 4: Configure Import Options #
- When prompted, you’ll need to decide about importing images:
- Select “Yes” if you want to import all product images (recommended for a complete import, but slower)
- Select “No” if you want a faster import with only the main product image
- Additional options may appear depending on your plugin version:
- Set product status (Published, Draft, or Pending Review)
- Choose default category for products
- Configure price markup options
Step 5: Review and Import Products #
- After fetching, you’ll see a list of all products found in your JSON file
- Review the product list to ensure everything looks correct
- You have two options:
- Click “Import” next to individual products to import them one by one
- Click “Import All” to import every product in the list at once
- A progress bar will appear showing the import status
- Wait for the import to complete – this may take several minutes depending on the number of products and images
Step 6: Verify the Import #
- When the import is complete, you’ll see a success message
- To check your imported products:
- Go to WooCommerce > Products in your WordPress dashboard
- You should see all your Shopify products now in WooCommerce
- Review a few products to ensure all information was imported correctly
Setting up the First Import in Detail #
Step 1: Prepare Your JSON File #
- Make sure you’ve followed the steps above to export your Shopify products’ JSON file
- Check that the file opens correctly in a text editor (if it doesn’t, the export may have failed)
- Note the location of the file on your computer for easy access
Step 2: Upload and Configure Initial Settings #
- In Shop2Woo > Dashboard, upload your JSON file using the file picker
- After uploading, you’ll see a “Start Fetch” button – click it to begin processing
- A confirmation dialogue may appear – click “Yes” to proceed
- While the fetch is processing, you’ll see a progress indicator
Step 3: Choose Product Data to Import #
- After fetching completes, you’ll see import configuration options
- Select which data elements to import:
- Product titles (always imported)
- Product descriptions (recommended)
- Images (choose “Yes” for all images or “No” for the main image only)
- Prices and variations
- Categories and tags
- Attributes
- Meta data
Step 4: Configure Image Handling Options #
- Decide how to handle product images:
- Import all images (complete but slower)
- Import only featured images (faster)
- Store images locally or use Shopify URLS (local storage recommended)
- Set image quality and size preferences
Step 5: Set Price Markup (Optional) #
- If you want to adjust prices during import:
- Choose between percentage markup (e.g., +20%) or fixed amount (e.g., +$ 10)
- Enter your desired markup value
- Set rounding options (e.g., round to .99)
- Preview an example of how pricing will work
Step 6: Begin the Import Process #
- After configuring all settings, click “Import All” to start the full import
- A confirmation dialogue will appear – click “Yes” to proceed
- Watch the progress bar as products are imported one by one
- Do not close your browser or navigate away from this page until the import is complete
- When finished, you’ll see a success message with the number of products imported
