# How Do You Get Your WooCommerce API Credentials to Connect with Shop2Woo?

## **Step 1: Create API Keys in WooCommerce**

1. In your WordPress dashboard, click on "**WooCommerce**" in the sidebar

## **Step 2: Set Permissions for the API Key**

1. In the "Description" field, type "**Shop2Woo Import**" (this helps you remember what the key is for)

1. In the "**User**" dropdown, select your admin account
2. In the "Permissions" dropdown, make sure to select "**Read/Write"** (this is very important!)

1. Click the "**Generate API key**" button

## **Step 3: Copy and Save Your New API Credentials**

1. After clicking "**Generate API key**," you'll see a new screen with your credentials

1. Look for the "**Consumer key"** - click the "**Show"** button next to it and copy the full key
2. Look for the "**Consumer secret"** - click the "**Show**" button next to it and copy the full secret
3. Save these somewhere secure, like a password manager or text file (you'll need them in the next step)

## **Step 4: Add Your API Credentials to Shop2Woo**

1. Go back to Shop2Woo > Settings in your WordPress dashboard

2. Paste your Consumer Key into the "**Consumer Key**" field
3. Paste your Consumer Secret into the "**Consumer Secret**" field
